I just took apart my whole motor and decided while it was apart to get some work done to it. Im going to put in a piston(don't know what brand) a port and polih and cam. i already have a pipe and some other small things. Im looking for a sick mx motor. WHO does the best port and cam match for this?????

I don't there is just one answer to that. There are alot of guy's out there doing good head work. Everyone has there opinion's. As for Curtis Sparks, good luck getting your head done by him in the next year or so..

TC Racing builds good MX motor's
Mark Baldwin also builds a good MX motor, he did my port/valve job with his MX cam and piston and I'm very happy with it. I've ridden many other 450's and it makes my like mine even more.

well, just like i've said in the past, Boone's work is the best i've seen in pictures.

The only question I have is:
I know he has done a few port/flow jobs, but has he ever tested the cfm throughput of his work (before and after)?

work look'n good and performing good is two different things. Don't get me wrong, i think his work performs really good, but i prefer test data.
just wondering if he has tested that's all...

Dan Lamey at DASA for sure. Knows a ton about port/flow work and has a lot of time on the bench. Hes the one who developed/invented all the TREX stuff for banshees and they all put out huge #s.

John at Nmotion does exceptional work. He built my motor and dynoed it at 53.2 hp. It has a cam, springs, je piston, +1 valves, and crf ignition and flywheel, fcr carb off 04 crf450. He is very knowledgable and has won pikes peak 4 times. Also the guy at dasa does impressive work and alot of r@d. Either man I would trust with my motor. Also I would allow Baldwin to do my motor as he has experience with factory team honda and does a simlar job to what Tim farr has done to his rocket.

JH Racing has done extensive work on the TRX motor and has done some great port work. He's getting my motor soon. The motors he are building absolutely scream. Turn-around time is quick and is somewhat cheaper than maybe Dasa, Sparks or TC I'd bet.....

Sparks does AWESOME work but you'll wait for a LONG, LONG time on your motor and its just not worth it.......

Ya JH Racing did my port work took like 3 days turn around time.
He is the only person I let do work on my bike other than myself. I just trust him. I drove all the way to his shop to meet him and he is a total stand up guy!!

Don't forget about GT Thunder either. I would be sending mine to either TC Racing, Baldwin, or GT Thunder...

He had one of my heads done in less than 1 week! I like his work. He's fast, he's reasonably priced, and overall, i just like the dude. Met him here online and i think he is a stand up guy. Go give him a try ;)

You guys want some cutting edg stuff don, then go to Joe at Rossier Engineering. He has a Dyno, Flow Bench, and a ton of experience. He is doing things that no one else is even thinking of. He will get you in the 51-52 horsepower range for cheap, and it will last. Not to mention, he has the best pipe on the market. You can go as mild as polish work, and as extensive as full port polish, milled down head, taper bored carb, etc. He is the man, Call 715.341.9919. Tell him Josh from Oklahoma sent you.

yeah i like rossier i have one of his pipes. its not too loud and has a ton of power. do u think a port and polish form him would match nice? how long and how much does it cost? theres nothing on the rossier site about 450 porting.

I am getting mine back tommorow. I have yet to get a price yet. Your gain is going to depend on how much stuff you do. You get his piston with his port work, and you better hold on for dear life! He gets it back in 3-4 weeks. He will also spend time helping you get set up. Let me know if you have any other questions. Some of the great things about Joe is that he is a smaller operation, he does all his stuff himself (Meaning he doesn't just assemble it after someone else ports it), he has a flow bench and a dyno, and he is an engineering genius.

The guy in all black next to Natalie does great work. It's Dee Manshack out of Cleveland, TX. He is Natalie's mechanic this season. His company is Rage ATV and the number is 281-593-2481. All of his stuff is flow bench tested. He knows the 450R motors real well as well as a lot about aerodynamics.

He did head work on both the 450R's pulling a big holeshot in this pic.

I never said he was doing Natalie's motors, I just said he was his mechanic. You are correct though I believe, Sparks builds Natalie's motors.

Scott Cain Racing is our local guy. I had him clean up the ports on my XC head and few other tricks. Very pleased. I know he does MX motors and they're all tested on the flow bench and all that good stuff. He knows what it takes to build a good performing motor.
