View Full Version : squeking brakes

I got a brand new 02' 400ex and put 7 hours on it. Just yesterday I noticed a squeking noise by the back break. It was more of a rubing noise. Is this disc break's breaking in? Why does everybody say to remove the parking break? How do you all trailer your quads then?

The parking brake will drag and rub your brake pads down, get rid of it! As far as driving with it I strap it down and put it in 1st

what i do is take a bungee cord and wrap it around the front brake then around the handlebars until the quad doesnt move and put it in gear to be safe and racthet it down!

I put it in gear, but attach two rope-ratchet lines to the front frame, compressing the front suspension to make sure it's tight, and pushed against the trailer/truck bed. Then run annother line from one side of the the end of the trailer/truck bed up to the grab bar and then down to the other side, compressing the rear suspension to keep it from moving. I've never had it shift on me when traveling down the highway at 70mph...
