My friend just broke his GYTR Pipe on his yfz and now want to buy another pipe. He asked me if the full system was much better or even had a diference on the pipe. I didn`t know the answer. My gytr head pipe looks exactly the same as stock.

Should he buy a full system exhaust or just a pipe?

Thanks

Yeah, I`ve heard they are good only for top end.

No don't go full system. Unless you just like spending money for a tiny 1-2 hp gain then get just the slip. my bro just HAD to have his Yoshi in full system, and it still just barely beats an E-series slip. mainly it just costed him an extra 150. bigger sized bike's Stock head pipes are not restrictive like smaller 50's and 80's.
:macho Just the slip on!

get a Rossier Full System. Great power gains

Um.. it may be great power gains... But your gain is nearly Completely from your silencer. No Matter what brand, a 4 stroke gets it from the silencer, and a 2 stroke gets it from the headpipe. That's my advice, get the brand you want, but Don't waste alot of money on such a small gain for a headpipe. (small if any...)

I switched from a big gun slip-on to a WB E-series full system and it made a nice improvment in the mid-top of the power band. It's not just the size of the stock header that holds it back. It's also the route the header takes.

On the z400's the stock header goes out and to the left and then comes back to the right, then up to the silencer. My WB E-series cuts off of the overall distance the exhaust has to flow before it gets to the silencer.

On my YFZ, the size and shape of the aftermarket header it`s almost the same as stock.

Do Curtis sparks sells just the slip on?

I`m planing to get curtis or hmf, what other brands could be a good choice?

It's my opinion that E-series and Yoshimura are the way to go with a four stroke slip. not saying all the others aren't good, i just kno what the dyno tests say about those two, and personal experience is they can't be easily beaten.

I bought an HMF slip on for my 400ex and then had a small beads of weld taken out of my stock head pipe for a little more flow... Works awesome, sounds awesome... And saved a load of cash...
