I was just wondering which filter you's prefered between the 2, i ride through alot of fields and dusty areas, and the odd time in mud, i've read that some people have had trouble with the K&N but i dont think i should as long as i keep it oiled properly, but if i went with the k&n will i have to get the outwear thing or whatever it is. And which one gives you better performance because i need some quick mods so that i can whoop my buddys 400ex, he thinks his quads all that, but all he has on it is a pipe lol, and i just got my stock pipe with the baffle taken out so i definately gotta get a pipe but any suggestions are appreciated thanks.:eek2:

you wont get alot of power gains from a filter...

But anyways, get a Uni, K&N's are only good for cars, IMO. Or non-dusty areas. In my expierence Uni filters, filter out dirt ALOT better..

Just get some sort of foam filter. I dont recommend and k and n for very dusty areas, imo they are only good for the street.

well...you wont fill a power gain between the seat thats for sure..on a dyno u may see a verrrrry small gain with the k and n but nothin that ur gonna lose sleep over..since the uni is a foam filter its gonna catch alot more dirt and stuff of that nature then the k and n..k and n is more of a performance aspect and there isnt much performance so i dont really know why the focus so hard on that...k and n = overrated overpriced uni= great filter half the price..just as good...choose wisely..

With a "properly" oiled K&N you will not have any problems. Anybody that says a K&N lets dirt in your motor either has never had one or does not know how to oil it.

had 1 and so did my buddy with his raptor..both of us switched to unis and we oil them the same exact way no problems with uni..k and n just isnt worth the money for what else is on the market....and for someone to just use a k and n hasnt seen how much dirt a uni catches over it..

It's really all personal preferance. I have used K&N,Uni and twin and I personally like twin air the best.

uni+++++ i use a k&n in my car, they are for the street man, the uni imho is the best filter or twin air, both very good, i have 2 unis and my friends run them, all execpt one, on a ds650 and i dont belive he has ever cleaned his k & n ........ unis and foam filters show dirt, i like that so i can tell when its dirty!

I will buy a uni for my 400 because I think that Uni will do a better job in dusty area than the k&n so keep the k&n for the street and uni for the off-road ;)

go with the UNI. K&N and UNI both will flow more air than your stock motor will need. you wont really see much of a differance with just a filter you can take off the lid to allow more flow of air. the reason i say UNI is because i have run both brands and UNI filters better and is much easier to clean.

My No-Toil is great.
Any one looking for a foam filter should try one.
Cleaning is a no mess.

Twin air makes a good filter. I have run them both they are both pretty much the same.
