Part swappin 400ex to 450r

I have regular elkas on my 400ex and wanted to put them on the 450r. Could this work or would it be a crappy compromise? Also I have an axle I want to swap from the 400 to the 450 and vice versa. Will that work. Please, If you have done any of these answer this question.

The axle will work, as for the Elkas, see if they are the same length as the ones on the 450, if they are swap them out (make sure the mounts are the same). You'll probably need to dail them in.

the 400 axle will not fit in the 450r carier and the shocks will be a lil short but will work fine... in order to use the 400 axle you have to change the carrier and axle to fit.

theres a guy on the trx450r that uses a 400ex axle in his R and it works fine


its off 1/8" fron sprocket to sprocket

hes running that with alum sprockets and he shows no wear from it

you can just make a spacer and it will work
