good price for 250r?

my buddy is lookin for a 4wheeler and my other buddy knows a guy selling his 250r for 1000. all it needs is a piston and ring. im not sure the year on the 250r. i think the price is good as hell. my one buddy said the guy is stupid and don't know what hes got. is 1000 good or what?

well depending on the condition, if it's good ( except the piston and rings ) I would say it's a pretty good deal. I traded my 250R for my 400ex, even trade.

If its got plastic and the thing will roll,1000 is a great price

Good price if that s it. Check behind the motor where the swing arm is close to the case thats a very common place for crack's.Frame cracks near footpegs, subframe,up top by the steering stem.If the guy is stupid that would really worry me he might not have taken care of it.I d do a good check over because these can Nickle & Dime you to Death.

a grand is a good price for a R even if it needs work I would buy it I went the stupid way and pieced one together cost me way more but I ended up with the kind of parts I wanted.

yeh i thought 1000 was a great price too. i don't know much about them so i wanted to see what everyone on here thought. thanks guys for all them replies. we priced a piston and rings and its like 85. so hes real happy with that and trying to get the $$. thanks again.
