EX'riders,

I've got a rear set of 8x8 Hipers on my 400EX and have just worn out a set of 18" Kenda Klaws.

Looking to get a set of new tires and want a larger diameter.

Does anyone know if anyone makes a 19" or 20" tire for an 8" rim?

Thanks!

Yes, you can get a 20" tire to fit an 8" rim. Even the Kenda's come in this size.

OK, yes, now I see them.

I even see some in 22" that fit an 8x8 rim at 12" wide!

What would be the drawbacks/advantages to running a big 22" rear tire on a tiny 8" rim?

The only thing I can see negative is they will probally want to roll under in hard cornering. Would be perfectly fine for trail riding.

I run 22" on 8". I use them for trail riding only. they give a softer ride because there is so much sidewall to flex and absorb the bumps. the 22" tires also give me more ground clearance. the drawbacks are.. they are heavy and they don't corner as well as the smaller tires due the sidewall roll.

If you are looking for more of an mx tire ITP makes a 19'' rear holeshot mx.
