ok i have a pos 800 dollar car with a serious valve tap. i was low 4 quarts of oil and was doin 100 down the highway. anyway i dont wanna adjust the valves. im gonna run some thick oil and i was wonderin if 2 stroke oil mixed with my gas would work at all. yeah this is a crazy idea and i think it would be funny to try. im just worried, do u think my o2 sensor or cat will get clogged. how bad will my car smoke. if i ever get a new car im gonna put diesel in this one and watch it smoke, it already sounds like a diesel with all the valve tapping :huh

if you don't care about it that much then you might as well try it.

By adding premix in the tank wont do anything as far helping matters on your car, but it wont hurt it either..Also it will not smoke all that bad if at all..I have a POS lawn mower and when I dont have regular gas lying around I will throw the pre-mix in it..it doesnt smoke at all with it and this gas I have is mixed rich..try it..it wont hurt anything, but wont help either..

i ran out of gas in my old POS s-10 once and used weed eater gas, it didnt smoke any more than normal and didnt run any different either. probably shouldnt do that alot tho

After you burn the 2 stroke oil out, try some lucas, it helps ticking noises sometimes.

Change your oil, and fill it up with oil minus about a half a quart or a quart, then put a quart or transmission fluid in it. The ticking should go away pretty soon.

It will run, Ive done it before, quite a few times. not enuf gas in tank to get to town to the gas station. dump my premix in..... Its 50/50 blend with race and 93 octane. the oil dilutes the race gas if u wanna call it that, so u come out about the same. lol

I've heard that mixing a little sugar with your gas will help your valves. :p

whats the thickest oil i can buy? i think im gonna try the sugar right now

duke416ex
05-25-2005, 01:02 PM
Well, if you want really thick you could go to gear oil and get like 80w or 90w. How much sugar are you gonna start off with?

Scott-300ex
05-25-2005, 05:25 PM
use lead instead of sugar, thats what you had to do in the 70's add liquid led to your gas to keep the valves in good shape, if you didn't do it, your seats would get all f-ed up, we got a 70 fairlane and we still gotta put lead in it

you don't ''adjust'' the valves on a car, you tighten and loosen the rocker arms is all you do with valves on cars pretty much

runnin 2-stroke gas is just ganna clog up your cylinder, pistion, ports, and carb with oil, i wouldn't do it

its not ganna help anything anyway, so i don't know why you even want to do it

Scott-300ex
05-25-2005, 05:28 PM
also, if you run rich especially it will clog up your O2, but you don't need it, it just helps your car run more efficient, its more like a carbed car without it, and oil will clog up your injectors

just get new valve seals first, then get new rings if the seals don't fix it

and you guys sayin it won't smoke. stick your finger in your exhaust right after the head and tell me how much oil you get on your finger

man just blow the car up:devil:

the mix will not hurt anything. I used to run it in my old pickup every year after I drained the gas out of my snowmobiles in the spring. It smelled a little different but it ran the same and didn't smoke. It probably did it some good by lubing the valves too.

its a 94 ford escort, 5 speed http://www.deephousepage.com/smilies/driving.gif

when i get something new ill give it away for 400 bucks, it has nice interior cuz whoever had it before me used seat covers, it has 125 give or take thousand miles. it was only temporaly.

One, the motor will run just fine!

Two, if the car is fuel injected, it won't hurt a thing on them.

Three, if you still have working o2 sensors it will shorten what life they have left. It will also plug up the cat if it is not already plugged up now from running so rich now.

Four, it will actually help lube the parts of the fuel system the "touches" fuel.

Five, under no circumstances is it a good idea to put sugar in your gas tank, this WILL hurt the motor rather fast. If there is enough put in the tank at one time it will cause the motor to blow in short order.

Do not ask me why I know about number 5!!! :eek2: :blah:

he was talking about sugar in the oil. I have no idea why. But didn't they do a thing on Myth Busters about sugar in the gas?
I think they busted that one too.

wilkin250r

Did they bust the sugar in the gas myth? I should have seen that one coming.

The theory is that the sugar will dissolve, get sucked into the engine, and will burn. Deposits will accumulate into a sludge, and when they harden and crystalize, they will require a complete rebuild, bore, pistons, at that point it's usually easier to replace the entire engine.

However, that's not really the case. Sugar doesn't dissolve well in gasoline, almost not at all. So the worst that can happen is the granules clog up the filter, or if they make it beyond the filter, they clog the carb or injectors.

I dont think the busted that myth.. i dont remeber that episode to good but the only thing that ruined the motor was the bleach.

moth balls in the gas tank helps

wow, i just scrolled down right now when im typin on the post page and saw someone already said that

I thought they busted teh sugar one but maybe someone else can confirm. I agree the bleach did some damage though. From what I remember they ran all kinds of stuff through that motor. I the overheating was what finally killed it. Was that the same episode where they poked holes in the radiator and then put raw eggs in it to stop the leaks? It actually worked and pretty darned quickly too!

oh and bleach is to make tire smoke

LTZ400rider
05-26-2005, 09:17 PM
oh yeah liquid bleach on tires i keep on forgetting to try that, finally get to use them post-it notes. if u wanna eff the gas up instead of using sugar use kitty litter. also use kitty litter on oil stains in the garage, let it absorb and sweep it up

I ran my car out of gas b4 and put a gallon of mixxed gas in it so i could get to the gas station and it worked fine.

its a proven fact that a car runs better on mixed gas than no gas at all. (long story)

05-27-2005, 03:02 PM
I had a yard beater that I ran,

junk paint thinner
junk methinal
old gas from a OLD tractor
Nitro rc fuel ( methinal and nitro methane and castor oil)

It ran on everything till I overheated it or somthin. A crank rod snapped

LTZ400rider

u used rc fuel, what did u hit the lottery 30 bucks a gallon fool. paint thinner thats funny as hell. my weedwacker is hard to start, and i think i mixed too much oil it so i sprayed carb cleaner in the gas tank. nitro booster :D

Lets just say that while I do like and watch the mythbusters show, that not all of the story's they do are as truthful as they would have you believe. It is just a TV a show after all.

And to the guy that said that the sugar does not dissolve very well in gas, you are correct, it does not dissolve very well. But after a while it WILL dissolve to a point that it can and will seriously destroy a motor. As a matter of fact Karo corn syrup works much better if you are looking for quick results! BUT do not try this at home!

Sugar mixed in the gas will melt and gum up the internals of the motor, plus sugar burns rather hot and will cause the motor to have a "melt down" of sorts. Pistons, rings, valves, carb, fuel injectors will all be ruined by the addition of sugar to the fuel.

How do I know all of this you ask???? Well lets just say that back in the day when I was a young and dumb kid I did a few things that I should not have done. And had to pay dearly for afterward.

Lets just say that the judge did not find our prank as funny as we thought it was when we did it!!

It was his car!!!!:eek2:

the rc fuel was old, and it was the cheep stuff, 20 $ a gallon. it was left out a cupple times with no cap on. and was over 1 year old. I tryed to run a plane on it and it wouldent stay running.
