Has anyone used a hypertech programmer for their vehicle? I have a 03 excursion with the V10 and im thinking of buying one. Any help would be helpful.

Had them in camaros. Last programmers we used were superchips, had one in a powerstroke and one in a dakota r/t.

Are they worth the money? They probably work better in the diesel though. The programmer is like $350 ballpark.

On an 04 6.0 ford diesel it went from a 16.5 in a 1/4 to a 14.1. That was a superchip. It just depends on what you are putting it in. The hypertech was good in the camaro b/c yoou could reprogram for tire size to keep the speedo right . The supertech just has the choice of 3 settings. If you don't have enough done to get a custom map or don't wan to pay for the dyno runs and stuff, they are pretty good. Look on ebay, just be sure that they are unlocked.

Tried to get one for my F250 with a v10. Called them and they didn't make one for the v10. That was last year. Ended up getting an 03 F350, bought the hipertech, and I can smoke the tires no problem. I pull a 22' weenkend warrior with 3 quads and all the rest of the stuff you need (had it weighed at the weigh station --8463 Lbs. loaded) This Truck now just rips up the hills and on flat land getting on the hiway is a breeze . I would recommend this to anyone who is thinking about getting one.

Awsome, thanks for the info. I think I will order one and you had the programmer right? (not a chip)
