I'd say thats way to much for a starter, specially someone who isnt use to a clutch

Maybe try to convince her that she needs reverse;)

i think itlll be fine, i dont really get when people say that a certain quad wont be good for beginners.. theyll eventually learn how to control and drive them in no time... ive know many people that just went out and got 450's and raptors as their first quad and theyre doin fine..

for a 95lbs. 15-16yr old girl's first quad... i'd go with a 300ex or a 400ex...

just take her when she goes ot buy it and get her an 05 400ex. Tell her the sign that says "400ex" is just a typo sticker.

Let her get one, then you ride it and let her ride yours!!

Really I would try to convince her of a 400ex or a z400. If she isn't gonna race, for her size she will probably like the reverse and not having to kickstart it.

I called up a dealer one day and told them I wanted a YFZ 450. It was delivered to my house, and I never rode anything with a clutch before then. I got on it a taught myself how to ride it that day. I think the 450r and the YFZ 450 are bascially the same thing....450 and 450 and so on. I think she could handle it. I was 18 when I got mine and I weighed about 110 LBS. Since I was so tiny I waxed everyone I dragged at the dunes!

You won't ever know if she could do it until you let her try. I say give her a chance! I don't race....It only sucks when you get stuck and you have to jump off and push it in reverse. I guess if she is really passionate about riding like I am, Go for it!

400ex...blah...they have no balls! I'd rather get a dirtbike or walk then ride one of those! :blah:

dude a first quad for ANYONE should not be a 450, or anything bigger then that. it is WAY to much power and machine for a beginner to handle, to much speed and power.

a 300ex or raptor 350 would suit her quite well i think. and if you think that is still too big for her, get a 250ex. all are great beginner quads.

now hold on here

do you have any pictures of this girl?

should she get a 450?

HELL NO

she will loop out fast

if she learns on something with less power, she will know how to use it to the full potential and be great if she gets a bigger one

95lbs. won't even keep the front end down

ahhh, i had something else to say but i forgot it

ok...heres my opinion....shes nuckin futs...95 lbs on a 450r...thats insane...i know i want to upgrade to a 450r pretty soon and i think im going to be giving my 400ex to my g/f...the motor is still stock with stock suspension so if she gets used to the 400ex she has plenty of room for more power...

so i think you should convince her to get a 400ex...450r is just too much for somebody to start on...esp somebody that size...tell her to eat some ham hocks or somethin and then she could get a 450

im on a hoped up raptor and i way 105lbs....i like it cuz i kill everybody in drag races and i can sit on the bars in wheelie in 4th and 5th gear...i just crowned my 3rd year riding quads...i started on a raptor 80 and rode it till we couldnt sell if for more then 50 bucks then got a z250 rode it to its full potentioal and sold it and got the raptor i have invest over 5 grand in my raptor and i am very pleased. Just cuz im 13 and small doesnty mean i cant ride it. I have weight training classes and can bench 10 pounds over my body weight. I have to work out to keep up with my raptor but i wouldnt have it any other way. Im not taken her side tho she shouldnt get a 450 with out rideing alot on other quads.

I started on a wicked scrambler bored .080 over, fmf pipes, clutch kit, ported head that would walk all over my yfz450.. i believe if she has the talent/skill to ride she will do fine on just about anything.. i would suggest you to get her a yfz instead considering its easier to ride, and lower center of gravity..

anyhow i try to sstay out of these threads because my opinion is a lot different from most..

in my opinion i believe a 250ex is unsafe.. example
i can go through a patch of woods on my yfz in 4th gear WO.. and when i get on the 250ex i can barly geet out of 3rd without lugging it, with the front end and rear bouncing all over the place...
