I have a 2002 300ex and when i hit a large puddle it spits and sputters and i can hardly keep it running stalls under load. What could be getting wet to cause this. I tryed making a rubber cover for my batt I have also replaced the sparkplug boot . Is the a common problem that causes this that I don't know about?

Do you run w/ an airbox lid?? If no then your gettting water in your airbox more than likely, if you have holes in it the water could be getting in them :) Had mine out this weekend in some BIG puddles & came around the turn 5th WFO & BAM there was a damn lake LOL I hit it HARD & she started boggin, but I cleaned it out & it was fine :)

I woul dcheck those things out 1st :) OH & here's the pic you wanted :D ;)

make sure your stator isnt getting wet or the coil wire isnt cracked anywhere

It's most likely water getting into the airbox and sucked into the motor. This happened to me several times until I finally figured it out. I always run the lid but water was still getting in from the intake tube. Clean your filter and oil it down real good.

It only acts up when it's wet the after a minute it dry's right out and is ok

Clean ALL of your connection in your wiring harnes and then grease them with dielectric grease.
