i tihnk i decided to get a banshee. i plan on doing some relatively rough trail riding, and going to the track a bit. i figure with a set of razr 2's, pipes (havent decided wut kind), nerfs, and some front shocks. what kind of shocks do u recomend, im nto going huge, just some 25-35 foot doubles, 60 foot table top at the biggest, what kind of shocks should i get?
it took awhile to decide wether to get a banshee or a 400 ex, but if i take care of my banshee it shouldnt be a hassle.

i suggest not getting a shee if your riding trails and some mx , i had one myself it was a fun machine but handled like poo, i would just get the ex if i was you, the banshee has to much wheel spin

im real set on a banshee tho, i think its cause of the cheap power. after i put pipes on it, it'll either beat or keep up with everything i'd be riding with.
do these have to be revved fairly high to get some power? if u were goin through some big ruts or saumthing and u had to be in 1st or 2nd, would u be feathering the clutcha lot? sorry about all the silly questions, but i dotn wanan buy the wrong quad.any input would be good

Theres a few members here like bansheeguy and some others that will tell you the same, if you can ride a banshee then you can do good on it. Most say this and that but they havent ridden one, That and they just cant ride them.

the 400ex would be a better quad for trails, the shee is a good drag quad but u dont see many in the trails.

Tight Budget I would say Works shocks, Smaller front will give you a little better low end, the best mod is pipes and a air filter, makes a big differance in power.

Alot of the builders like alba recomend tommey t-5's and fmf fattys with powercore 2's for exhaust.

and like they say, if u can ride a banshee u can do well. i pretty sure i'll get the hang out it pretty quick, but r they really that bad for jumping like people say?

i see a fair bit of banshees with bearclaws or mudlites. wouldnt the banshee not be a quad to take in the mud?

lol, well since its 2 wheel drive I wouldnt take it mud bogging, I would get either razr 2 fronts with holeshot xcr rears or razr 2's front and rear for what your going to do, 21 inch fronts 20inch backs :)

The rubber oring on the kick starters goes bad and it gets the famous rattle sound, but other then that pretty much your normal maintence issues as any other quad.

well either way its not gonna be the easiest thing to have a quad setup to do good in trails AND mx......its gonna have to be one or the other, wherever u want your weaknesses to be

how are banshees powerbands? where is the power?

accorracer
05-25-2005, 06:35 PM
depends on what pipes you get, if you want lowend get the fmf pipes, if you want topend go with rockets.

i ride my banshee on trails all the time and i have no problems.

you'll like it. the power delivery is unlike anything else. be careful on it in trails because the banshee will get away from you if you don't keep in control.

im debating on a banshee or a 400ex, but cant really decide. i dont wanna have a banshee then ride my friends raptor or pred, and say i want a 4-stroke. and a banshee is ur bang for ur buck defineatly. i like the low end power of a 4 stroke, will fmf's really make it have a butt load of low end power? the one tihng i hate about 2 strokes, to get power they have to be revving rather high, i'd rather rev lower, and just have bottom end.

05-25-2005, 06:56 PM
yeah if you wanna see cheap banshees go on www.hebdo.net and do your search in the province of quebec in the "moto&vtt" category, youll never see cheap used banshees like that, its crazy. Im getting a banshee at the end of summer and thats where im gonna find one, you can find a really clean one with Pipes, nerf bars, handlebars and a couple of mods like that for just 4000(canadian).
