View Full Version : no airbox lid in sand ok?

im racing in the sand next week and need to know if its gonna be bad to leave my lid off, i tried jetting it with the lid on but i droped from a 190 to a 160 and still am far off and its not getting much better, i need help really fast so i can have time to order parts

I ride Glamis with my airbox lid off. I also use one of those airbox outerwears, works good. But if you have a UNI, or even a stock filter, then you should be perfectly fine.

i run mine with a k&n and an outerwear with no lid in the sand and have had no problems.

Yep i run sand also with no lid ,,just make sure to run a pre filter(outerwear)

I bought an outerwear that replaces the lid and keeps virtually all dirt and sand out of the airbox. You can find it at NAC's racing website: http://www.nacsracing.com/ It is part #: 20-2095 and sells for $19.95. It is a tight fit but keeps all the big stuff out. Hope this helps!!! SD
