Pw 80

so i got a yamaha PW80 off my friend as a pit bike...i knew it wasn't running so i took the head and jug off and found that it had a broken ring, so i called up my local shop (they also sponsor me) and they said they need the year...so i looked at the frame and it doesn't say the year...is their any way to tell the year of somthing, like maybe a way to read the serial number and tell...if anyones knows anything about these things its got white plastics and a blue gastank that says PW with lightning bolts on it and such.....thanx

hmmm now i just have to find out if that was the only year like that...thanx alot...i like it how honda does it BIG lettering right on the frame

They should be able to tell the year by the vin number.
