are needle, main and slow jets the same type in a fcr and stck 450r carb?

i bought a fcr carb and i'm getting it taper bored to 44mm, but i have no experience with the jetting with fcr's.

right now the stock 450r carb jetting on the 530 is:
55 pilot
hrc needle
190 main
clip top

what jetting should i expect with the fcr? does the fcr require a different type of main/pilot/needle compared to stock 450r carb?

your help is greatly appreciated.

The main jets are interchangeable. The needle is not. I'm not sure on the pilot jet, you may have to compare the two lengths.

50 pilot, stock FCR needle in 4th clip, and 182, 185, or 188 main, may get you close based only on what you have in the stocker now.

Chad,
Im @ a 48 pilot, 180 main, 3rd clip height on the needle but im not sure what the needle is, if it is a stock 41mm fcr needle or what. Steve Polk set me up with it.

Have fun ;)

Gary, thanks- i heard you had this setup on your 520. our heads are identical so flow should be similiar with the exception of draw- so thanks for taking the time to help me out. i have to admit my fcr carb kb in my grey matter is about non-existent. but its about that time to unleash the beast with final mods to push over the 60 mark. 58.5/43 was best before- so with new RE, carb, ignition, MX02, and new valve train i hop'n to cross over if i'm lucky.

Thanks again Gary. You going to SL too in June?

Yep, got my reservations sitting besides me! Jellystone....lol

You going?

The fcr definetly takes a little finesse to get just right down on the bottom it seems. I really dont have it dialed in properly yet. The major jets (needle, main, and pilot) are perfect but its that accelerator pump thats got me scratching my head. I recently read alot of good info that was shared on it so i hope i can get it nailed down.

Hows the site work coming along?

I probally would if i thought it would fix things, but i've pretty much been told that there are "quads" with PC's hungy for 530R action <<< another long saga again; wish i could without the fear of my life LOL! I'd have to outrun them cause a few would probally want to run me down and finish after the race ends LOL! anyway, it's kewl. Have fun, and be sure to tell everyone "HELLO".

slow lately with the new season opening up and the 530R EFI Turbo ready getting ready for shooting. But the information is rolling in and formating is being finalized; so- really soon.

you have my cell- call anytime you want. you and Joe still need to hook up in PA for a ride when you both have time. let me know when is good.

On a yfz site, someone said kenz cycle tech does the boring for $100. I'd give them a call to make sure though.
