there is a quad for sale on here and it says second gear is slipping when you get on it. Anyone have any idea what this may be or how hard it would be to fix? I'm interested buy not if it's gonna be extremly hard to fix. Any ideas would be a big help!

if 2nd gear is slipping then mostlikely it needs to be replaced, it cost me $190 just for the gear on mine and I did all the work. But if you have someone else do it I would say somewhere around $500 by the time they split the cases and put everything back together.

yeah it sounds like somecogs are missing off the gear,a friend of mine recently replaced 2nd gear in his 400ex,i think he paid $90 for the gear alone.

I recently broke second gear in half and the gear itsself only cost 70 bucks. If its slipping that means the teeth are broken or chiped which means the other gears could have been damaged.

I replaced the 2nd and 3rd gear while doing this, this was my local shops recommendation because of the way 2nd and 3rd gears engage together they said it was best to replace both.
