I bought a kfx400 and it came with a twin air air filter. I was wondering if i had to buy all that twin air cleaner and oil and everything to clean it or is there any other options on how to clean it. I dont want to spend all that money on the cleaning stuff it cost more then the filter does. I saw some PJ1 air filter oil for 5 bucks i was wondering if i could use that ?

A grease cutting cleaner (dish soap) will work to clean it. Remember to squeeze (don't wring out) the water out so you don't tear the foam. I had a twin air filter and it worked fine. I just bought a UNI and it appears to be a much better filter but I don't have any ride time one it to compare. Just my observation.

Absolutely,
The filter just holds the oil. The Oil is what actually filters the air. ;)

kerosene works awsome for getting the old oil and dirt out. Then rinse it with some water, let it dry, and re-oil.
