I noticed you have a XR cam! That make of a difference. I'm looking to get a little more outta my 400 ex yet I dont want to spend much $$$ on this quad. How involved is the installation?
Have HMF s/o & a K&N filter if that matters! Thanks

It's a nice all around improvement over stock. but I think the hotcams stage 1 would be better. that's what I'm going to put in when I do the piston.:D

BTW I got my cam from a Friend with an XR400. when he upgraded I bought his for $25 :D

Ya, I was only considering th xr cam cause I could get one cheaper too.So the hotcam is the way to go!??? How easy/hard is that to put in. Anything else i would need to do if I installed a hot cam

both cams will drop right in. the hotcam doesn't not use the decompression assembly (it is stuck on the stock cam and the xr 400 cam for example). you will need to remove the spring and plunger from the head with the hotcam, but you will keep it in there with the stock 400ex and the xr400 cam. the hotcam stage 1 is nice for all around power. it does good in the trails too. however, it ticks really really loud. it was annoying enough for us to get rid of it. i would consider the TC gncc cam (grind 926)
