What shocks does everyone recommend for XC racing? I am getting ready to buy shocks, just trying to decide what to buy.

See my post in the open forum under "chassis pics" thats the best GNCC setup I have run in 15 years of XC racing!

i do not know if it's just by chance but a lot of people run the roll/axis setups and love it.

The Roll/Axis is by far the Best. Second I would say is some +1 A-Arms and PEP ZPS Shocks.

Jeff's set up is very nice i have heard a couple comments that they liked their old axis set up over their new elkas.
I haven't riden the houser elka set up so i personaly can't say if it is better or not.

gnccer how do you like the derisi shock?

it's great for a re built stock. The reason i went with him is that he run's gncc and he is there ever week to work on adjuct any thing i need on it. he does make his own shocks now that are very similar to axis.

Jeff,

I've been seriously considering the Houser long-travel arms for quite a while now. With all the tight riding and racing I do though (GNCC and especially MidSouth), I'm not sure I'd really want to go any wider than stock. Do they make stock length long-travel arms and would they really worth the money or do you need to get into an extended length to realize any benefits?

Jeff what Setup do you think Compares to Roll? I know Walsh does, but I don`t see to many Walsh XC Quads. The Houser/Elka Setup is Good, but I don`t think it is as Good as the Roll/Axis. I know if you get +1 A-Arms you get Rims that are Offset to make it Stock Width but that is for more Travel so I don`t know if you would want to do that or if it would Work on the Long Travel A-Arms.

i dont see how you can compare diffrent combos if you havent ridden them all.... it like quads, people say the 400ex is slow becasue theyve never ridden one, on the other ehand people say the banshee handles bad because theyve enver ridden one...

Yea man Trx400ex is right. Don't comment on combos being good or not untill you ride them. Someone may ride his friends quad with axis shocks. If they arnt set up for him the will ride like crap. Any set up will ride like crap if it isn't set up for you.

ride the setup first than talk about it Hey warriorman have u ever even ridden your brothers 250r.?

I was just giving my Opinion. Everybody knows Roll and Walsh are Good just like Axis and PEP are. I was trying to help the GUy out with Info I have from Racers that have those Products or Stuff I have seen or rode on.

Yes I have rode it, but not with the TC Motor. Only my Brother and the Guy that built it have rode it with that Motor. Yes it`s Fast, no you can`t Ride it.
