will it work? could you use a 450r rear shock on a 400ex?

I wouldn't even think of doing that if it did work. The linkages are totally different, you're better off either buying an aftermarket rear shock or just rebuilding your stocker.

Don't try that one. it will be a bad swap. they are not the same length
