just to let some know... the 39 mm FCR carb off the yfz is an awesome upgrade to MANY quads....

400 ex's...
450r's...
z400
kx400
i'm sure you could put it on a few other bikes too...

throttle repsonse is sweet!!!.... i'm sorry this is a shameless plug..lol.. but seriously if you don't know about this ask around.. it's a really nice upgrade... and i have 2 for sale..

The 450R carb is probably an easier uprgrade than the YFZ carb.

maybe .. but the yfz carb is better than the 450r carb... i know because my buddies have upgraded their 450r's with 39mm fcr and love them..

how hard is install on 400ex?

from what i hear..not hard... my friend just sold his to a 440ex rider..

intake side measured 55mm or 2.16" and engine side measured 47mm or 1.87"


measure that against your current carb.. you might have to make a new intake tube...??
