My question is what is better, a rebuildable steering stem or one that isn't? Also, does one have to send those rebuildable stems to get serviced, to who and how much $$$$.

rebuildable steering stem ??? never seen one, do you mean rebuildable steering dampner ? You can get the rebuild kit for steering dampners and install them yourself, its just a couple seals and o-rings.

Denton makes a good dampner, I run one and love it. Rebuildable is the way to go. Seeing as how you CAN rebuild it when it craps out, compared to one you cannot....seems like the way to go.
