Gibson Steering Dampner/Stablizer

I have a gibson steering stablizer and I've seen a review that said that if you don't get it installed right, you'll bend the shaff!!! Does anyone know if there is an exact messurement for the install?

It is true..
the shaft will bend if not put on the right way..
the best way is to put it on and slowly turn your bars to see if it clears everything..
if not turn the part on the stem until it does..

I just bought a used one that has a bent shaft but still works just the same.
