Im getting a HMF full system pipe soon for my 450r and I was wondering what jetting I should run for it. I plan to keep the airbox lid on and get a k&n filter soon also. Would it be easier to buy the jets themselfs or by a jet kit? Thanks for the help.

buy the jet kit it will ease the jetting situation and includes needle, clips, washers. very easy to install just need patience.I run a 180 main w/o lid but I'm not very high above sea level.bike runs completely different:cool:

i can't tell you what jets to run exactly because my 450r isn't in yet. however, i would ask this in the 450r forum on this site or head to www.trx450r.org and ask them. some may recommend the HRC needle. you may need to drop the needle clip a position, i really don't know. i would say your elevation is around 600 feet above sea level. i live 30 minutes away and that is about what i am at.

I thought HMF sent you the correct jets and/or jet settings when you order a pipe from them , and if you didnt order a pipe directly from them you could call and talk to a tech rep from HMF

With airbox lid on you should run a 125 main with the full system. They have all of this info on their web site.

I grabbed a full system today. But the jet sizes... Khein FMF etc... are they the same, or what? I know Dynojet has its own sizes. So if they say 200 main jet.. That equals what company? My head hurts.:scary:

Main jet size is the same regardless of who makes it.

Yes, you should be fine with a 125. You should be able to tell right away if it is on or off, and you can confirm by checking your spark plug. HMF reccomends a 125 for the full system with your airbox lid on. I am running a 125 with the full system with the airbox lid on and just ran a 6 hour XC and it didn't have any problems at all.
