I'd try a bigger main jet. Are they Dynojets or Keihn jets? 148 (Keihn) is the stock size for the 400.

you have the dynojet kit stage 1 setting

your airbox lid is off then you need to check the stage 2 on the dynojet instructtion sheet

You need a bigger main jet, check your sheet for more info

I have heard somewhere on this site that a guy was having the same problem. he just put half of the air box lid back on, made a huge diffrence he said. personaly I would fiddle with the jetting some more.

putting the lid on would restrict flow cause it to get richer. just go up on your main jet.

they are dynojets. it was still bogging a bit w/ the lid on too. wouldent i just have to adjust the mixture screw? Also, I can barely push the atv when i hold the clutch in gear. I tried adjusting the clutch cable but that didnt do anything. It feels like im not holding the clutch when i try to push it.

Sound like your clutch plates are sticking. May be the just that or your dogs on your clutch basket are grooved witch will not let the plates slide back and forth freely. My plates used to stick on my Yamaha R1 because I used to clutch up wheelies and put grooves in my dogs.

This is what mine looked like:

that sounds to me like your brakes are sticking...i had the same problem with my 400ex the pads get wore out and stick...or could be your bearings in the rearend are shot and allowing the axle to move and its causing the brakes to always rub on the rotar

it is normal for a clutch to rub a little but not much. like said before check the brakes.

It rolls fine in neutral tho.

clutch cable could be the problem then...cables wear out and they stretch...causing the clutch not to engage all the way and sometimes adjusting them doesnt work...only option is a new cable...but its always good to keep a fresh cable on your quad anyways...i think they are 14.95 from honda not sure but try that too...

yeah, u need your honda sparkplug tool or a thin walled 18mm socket to get the plug out. Sounds like a clutch problem though, its very common problem with the clutch slipping that makes your quad sound and feel like its bogging down.

how do u get to the spark plug! it is way up under the seat/gas tank! do i have to take my seat off to get to it or what!? or do u just go under and try to work around the motor..?
