05 400ex Ignition

how do i get the ignition(place where u put the key) off the plastic piece that holds it. i need to get it off to put my new bars on

underneath there are two tabs you have to push in

i no that but how do i disconnect the whole plastice unit that holds it from the quad

take your seat off , take the 2 allen head screws out at the back of your front plastics. take the four 10 mm bolts out that that are on the brackets under your front fenders 2 on each side. take your gas cap off and stick a flat head screwdriver in the little rivets that hold on your tank cover and pop them up,remove tank cover and slide your plastics foward from there you can disconnect your wires and remove your key switch. on the bottom of you key switch there are two tabs that you can push in and your whole key switch will come out
