You could foul plugs, or the cylinders could wash with gas, which in-turn pulls oil into the combustion chamber, this will wear out the rings quick. This happened to me when I put a quiet core in my 400

Don't you realize it's a little more complicated than simply unscrewing and rescrewing a few bolts? If you're afraid of doing work, why are you messing around with modifications at all, even a pipe?

Were you running airbox lid on with your aftermarket pipe?

If so take it off for you stock pipe. Should lean it up.

It will get you a lot closer to where you need to be. May be good enough for the weekend.

And, yea, running way too rich will cause a lot of carbon buildup, not to mention lots of other things as mentioned above.

As long as the lid wasn't punched out and it is sucking air through the snorkle tubes like the stock box does.. yea it will lean it up a lot.

Basically (1) 2-1/2" hole (caurberator) has a lot more airflow than the (2) 1" holes for the snorkle.

The snorkle is you're bottleneck in the front end. Thats why having the lid off requires a lot larger jets.

around the inside of the little end cap on my hmf pipe, has black stuff on it, not a thick buildup but i cleaned it, and it didnt take much ridin to get it back on their. Its not completely covered, u can still see some of the metal tho. Is my jetting too rich? THe guy i bought it from said it might backfire sometimes on deceleration but it hasnt done it to me yet.
Should i take the lid off?
