my opinion is K@N ive had it in all of my quads it gives me great throttle response my two sense

It depends on your riding conditions. The k&n is good but I would rather have the uni because it traps dust better than the k&n. I like both but foam traps dirt and dust a little better.

i like the amsoil powerfilter myself :) it provides the best filteration, but still flows like a uni or k&n

I've used stock, K&N and Uni and I will always use Uni on my machines.

only thing wrong with stock that i can tell is the dont let them get as much air as a uni or a k&n..

the uni filter comes with an inside screen or do i have to use the oem???

any foam air filter oil will work. i currently have bel ray, but i just had easy access to this brand.

dude i just put an eseries on my ex and rejeted my carb to a 155 main took the lid off and what a difference the beast is alifeeee.

i have a k&n with a outerwears air filter and it i awesome, it don let any dirt go through, or water, i recomend one to you

I recommend UNI, though I run a K&N myself.

The K&N filter is real particular, you have to pay very close attention to oiling it properly, or else it WILL let dirt pass through. The UNI filter is much less critical, just slap some oil on it and go riding.

by the way, the UNI does come with its own cage and you do not use the stock one.

when you order the uni does it come with the cage? how do u just buy uni filters (just the actuall foam filter) without gettting the cage? u cant at all us the stock metal assembly from a 400ex?

the uni comes with its own cage. it is less restrictive than the stock one. just lay the stock one on your shelf when you get the uni. the stock filter is shorter than the uni and the uni cage should be used with the uni filter.

The UNI filter comes with the screen. I believe mine was $26 from C&D. I use the No Toil filter Cleaner and Oil, this stuff works great!
