I just bought a new chain and i cutt it to short does anyone have any ideas on how i can make it just a little to longer. It is so tight that the bike wont roll right. I only need maybe one more link and i should be fine. will the chain stretch quickly if it is to tight if i ride it or or there another plan i can do. thanks

the only option that i can think of is to use an extra master link. your not supposed to use more than one but you don't have much choice. that or buy a new chain. the chain could snap if it is that tight and you hit a jump.

it doesnt need to be that much looser do u think if i ride a few wheelies or something it will stretch out or will that just cause me more problems? How do i add another link

smaller sprockets 1 in the front and down 2 in the back should cancel each other out so ull be back at stock. i think

buy another master link... riding the chain tight will stretch it out but its probably not great for your sprockets

all you do is buy another master link and install it like you did with the one that came with the new chain. you may need the center link out of one that you cut. the master link may only come with the outer pieces and no center piece. if you have left over links that you cut off, that should work

You can also get a "half" link from your dealer but your best bet is to take your chain with you and have them add the links to it.
They will most likely have a chain repair tool that actually "rivets" (for lack of a better word) the links back onto the chain making it appear factory assembled. Then you would only have to use 1 master link. A much SMARTER and SAFER way to travel...............

i like cals idea. i work at a dealership and trying to get them to do something is tuff because they are so backed up. I just going to by another link and go that route and then when the chain gets too loose gets take the extra link out and go back to one link pretty simple... seems to be anyways. thanks cals
