I got ahold of a 99 blaster, for rather cheap. Got some new plastics, and did some minor work.

The one thing I'm not sure of (I'm rather a novice to ametuer when it comes to blasters) is under the hood. There's a small black box, that's got a stock connector and is unplugged. There is a similar box, right below it, that lookes like it was wired up. What would these be, and why (if I connect it with the connector) will the bike stop giving spark? Would the "wired in" one be an aftermarket ISD? Or what? Other than that, the bike does fine. I'm just wondering what it is, and why it's unplugged.

Also, does anyone know a decent set of clutches for a 99 YFS200L Blaster? And a price/link?

Thanks,
Steve-O

T.O.R.S....

It's a safety thing on the throttle lever and carburetor. Lots of guys disable them on Blasters. It has to do with the throttle sticking open.

the only black box under the hood should be the cdi

Well, there are two boxes underneath the "hood"... And the one, as I said looks like it's been wired into the electronics somehow, and the other is disconnected.

Also, another thing I meant to add. The oil injection unit, how can I make sure it's in working order, and does anyone know where I could get a kit, or a way to remove the entire unit and premix my own fuel?

go to www.snydermotorsports.net and find the phone number. they should have some kits there. he wont answer b/c he works during the day and does SMS at night. so leave a message when you call telling him when he can call you back.

your motor wont run correctly within 10 minutes of your injector going out

Well that second box, after some research, was a stock CDI and the other is an aftermarket piece. Runs with it, so might as well go with that. :)

He wanted $800, but I chewed him to $700, and it had a few extras with it.
