I know the main jet is underneath the carb but where is the pilot jet. My jet kit instructions didnt say anything about it, or is it the needle?

As viewed in the Clymer manual....

The actual pilot jet is usually referred to on this site as the mixture screw (fuel screw). The slot head screw under the carb, in front of the bowl, behind the idle screw.

What everyone calls the pilot jet is really the slow jet which is right next to the main jet but the bowl needs to be removed.

The needle is accessed from the top of the carb and mates with the main jet.

It's possible the Clymer manual has the numbers mixed up one is 24 and the other 26 in the diagram. I'm curious as to what the Honda manual shows.......

Confused more?:p

What you want to hear is the pilot jet is right next to the main jet but the bowl needes to be removed;)

If its for a dynojet kit installation, you just need to turn your mixture screw 3.5 turn
