Well...I think its time for a 450r...I'm 16....And getting a job before summer...I was wondering if any of you are paying payments on a 450r and could give me some details...I'll just get my parents to sign for it..And i'll foot the bill..I was wondering how much you guys are paying..and how long you think it will take me to pay it off...I'm sure i'll pay much more then what i'm soposed to monthly..how much of a down payment is needed? Thanks to everyone who answers! :)

buying brand new?? You can choose how long you want to pay for it, if you pay for it over 5 years, figure 20 bucks a month for every thousand financed. I would do it for 2-3 years.

im 17 and i was gonna do the whole monthly payment deal and get a new 400ex, but i just gota used one and payed in cash. And im very very glad i did cuz all the money i have can goto parts and stuff for it, no bill to pay on it

I recommend getting used so u dont have a bill, cuz wut if u just get plain sick of your job, and you hate it....u dont want the burden of having to keep the job to pay for the quad.

He's exactly right. I financed mine initially, but payed it off the first month. Out the door price was 5980 dollars and it was 120 dollars a month payment. So, 20 bucks per thousand is accurate for 5 years at the current financing rate.

I sold one of my cars and payed it off first payment though. The 5980 would have been 7500 bucks by the time I payed it out full term with intrest. No thanks, I'll spend the extra 1500 on mods.

imma help a friend out here by telling my situation ;) ....last year I sold my 400ex for $3,000 and put all that down on my TRX450r. I had to finance through Honda the rest (another $3,500). Well me and my dad went to the bank to try to get a loan from them and they wanted %10.9 APR on a $3,500 loan. So our last hope was the stealership and I thought I was screwed cause they'd be more but they gave me a loan at %5.9 APR. Needless to say I walked out with it and am paying $160 a month now and had it set up for 24 month period. I only owe another $1,000 now and should have it paid off by the end of next mont with my graduation money and money I make this summer from my job. Good luck maggot

DO NOT, DO NOT, finance anything on a damn honda card unless you have the money in the bank and just want to establish credit. im getting hozed right now. theres a lot of fine print when it comes to credit cards. 5.9 prolly for the first 2 years. if you charge over a certain amount its like 18%. if you over max itl be like 21%. i say save up 1,000 get a small loan for 1,500 from the bank, get a used quad and pay it off asap with your job. just my experience im 33.

my friend is financing a 450r and in the end he will of spend 12,000$ that is crazy. the interest kills ya.

I would rather just come up with the money first then buy it outright. I hope i never have to finance anything. it is a horible thing.

I got a 400ex for 3000$ that is mint. I would way rather go buy a slow quad rather than make payment on a fast quad.

How many months are you paying $280 though? You said before 24 months, that's $6720...that sounds like a lot in interest. But looks like you might've made a typo there, so figure $180 a month...that's still amost a grand you are paying in interest. Like someone else said, I'd rather save up the money and just pay it outright. But of course it's nice to build up your credit while you're young, just as long as you don't abuse it.

Yea I am 17 and know from experience financing will most likely get you in trouble..specially at our age...We forget, and do stupid chit that you will have to pay for....for instance...what if in that 5 years you get in a wreck...well hell you can fig 2000 there and then a HUGE IN CREASE IN INSURENCE.....than what can you do? Just go used and if you have to have the 450 hold off till you have it all,

if you have to finance it for some reason, go through a bank, they will make a better deal than honda. I think that may have been said already.

Banks are evil and credit cards are a tool of the apocalypse.

I'm paying like 27% interest on a citibank card, and I don't know if I'll ever be able to pay it off! And it 's not like I have bad credit, my fico score is 718, they just rip you off because they can.

Here in Texas, I believe the max intrest they can charge on a credit card is 21 percent. It's a law.

On financing though, if you're sure you can make the payments, it's a great way to establish credit while you're young.

05-19-2005, 06:42 AM
LOL....i meant the interest for the total loan is like $280...my monthly payment is $160 :p

then again, it is a good thing to buy somthin while you are young. when you are living with you parents there is a lot more extra $, as when you are living on your own there are a lot of other expences.

I completely forgot about my other option..-punches self in the face- My friend who is older and races has a tricked out cannondale..it has EVERYTHING all long travel 250r plastic conversion aluminum tank tc shorty beadlocks EVERTYTHING its fully aftermarket..well he just got a brand new yfz450 full race quad and is selling the cannondale..and he said I could give him 1000 down and pay him payments on it...And I can bet this cannondale is just as fast as the 450s its ready to race..I can't explain how awsome this quad is...So i'm def thinking of doing this...I want to start racing this summer..I haven't got to because of lack of equipment and such...so I think i'll def go with that choice.

I never heard of a Honda card.
But if you use Honda financial services it is a BANK, no bull shoot credit card. If you miss payments that don't raze your rate they just come and take there quad back. The loan is fixed rate for the turms you agreed to. Just like if you go to the local bank and get a loan!!!!!

I know the yanahjunk Card is like low for the first 2 years and then jumps to like 22%. And if you miss a payment by 5 seconds it like 25%.

But with Honda financial services it's a bank loan not a credit card scam!!!

I know I just graduated with a finance degree.

and i got my with $0 down paid $6499.00 + tax and insurance (rip off dont get it) for a total est $7500.
and my payment is like $145 for 5 years at 5.9%
