View Full Version : 12mm cylinder bolts

Does anyone know if the jug can be drilled out to accept a 12x100mm bolt to attach it to the crankcases?
I pulled some threads out of my crankcase, (glass bead in the threads) and flattened the threads on the bolt. Dont assemble any of your critical bolts with anything other than your ratchet and torque wrench! I used my drill with the clutch set light to speed up assembly. I am on the second teardown after break-in, no time saver there.

I picked up some 12x100mm cap bolts (Grade 12) and a drill press, but after looking at the cylinder I am not sure if I should go that route. It looks like there is enough metal around the old hole, but I cant tell if there is a sleeve in there.

Has anyone done this before? Any help would be appreciated!
