Well, I am going to go look at a 250r, that I have made a deposit on and I want to know what to listen for such as backfires and stuff.. I have NEVER heard a 250r in my life because where I live everyone muds and no one has an R which is one reason I want one..So I can be unique....Anyways thats off subject...One more time I NEED IT TO GET A FEEL FOR THE MUSIC OF THE MOTOR LOL

its a warrior...... lol. busted my wrist in april. only been on her once since. it pulls the holeshots on these new 4 strokes still. im workin on gettin long travel front end, and this winter im thinking.... duncan 265 PV kit.... MUAHAHAHAHA but yea, its a awesome ride. i just need to work on my suspension and replace some of the 18 year old worn out parts. lol

btw will different bores and say a powervalve vs stock engine sound noticeably different?

A bigger bore with have a deeper tone, more like a 4-stroke. In fact, the really big motors, like a CR500 orsomething, really sound like a 4-stroke.

It's very difficult to describe the sound of really high compression. The only way I can think to describe it is to say it has the same basic roar as any other normal-compression motor of the same size, but each individual "pop" is sharper and a little louder. Like, instead of a "pop", it's more like a "ting", and even higher compression will sound like a "tink".

why do two strokes have a "bubbly" (the best word i can think of to describe it) exhaust tone when theyre idling? not the sound of the engine, but the inconsistent popping noise

they dont get much healthier then that 265 bro. to top it off i dont know to many 265 R's that could hit a bump on a hill like that get back on the gas, wheelie, get off the gas and get back on the gas and not fall on there *** and bog out. on top of being 6000 ft above sea level..;)

Yamaha always sucked compared to honda's :)

I have a decked out Raptor 660 as well with all the doodads except nitro to get HP up and it still cant reach the stock HP of my 500R engine..
