i was just curious of the rear sprockets could be swapped from the 400ex to the 450r? i know the fronts can't but i was curious about the rear?

i have a 400ex front sprocket on mine and the rear is from a stock 400ex also I think

Isn't a 400ex front sprocket held on by 2 bolts and a 450r sprocket held on by 1 in the middle.

well it appears the rear sprockets do fit. C&D told me the fronts aren't the same. thanks

i just put a 400 sprocket on my 450,yes there are two hole on the 400,but all you need is the center hole for your 450 bolt that holds it on

That's correct! The splines on the countershafts are the same. The 400ex has two holes, the R none. The only difference when mounting is that one side of the sprocket has a thicker flange than the other side. On the EX the thick side goes in, on the R the thick side goes out.;)
