I'm having some problems getting my 400 to start. It will turn over a few times and then just run out of energy, I thought it was maybe the battery so I bought a new one and it still does the same thing. It eventually runs out of so much energy that the starter relay coil just clicks. I was thinking maybe the starter relay coil was bad and it wasn't transfering enough energy from the batter to the starter...anyone have an opinion on this?

Replace the spark plug

Check your ground cable from the battery

You can jumpstart it with a car battery. They're both 12 volts, but the car battery won't run down nearly as quickly.

For a long-term solution, it sounds like you have a poor connection somewhere. I might be easy to find and fix, or it might make you pull your hair out.

yea I've checked the plug and the ground...I might try starting it but I was wonderin if any of you have ever had this problem with this because if I jump start it will it just not start again the next time?

Clean all the connections on the battery and the relay. Then try to jump it. Sounds like one of them is corroded somewhere and after you clean them the battery should charge.

The connection on the relay was corroded...if I clean it will that fix my problem you think?

It would hopefully start then. If it is running it should also be charging unless you have another connection corroded or the fuse is blown, be sure to check it.
