I don't think that would be right. That would be like if you blow on your food it is now going to be hotter? I don't have a way to prove that it runs cooler but it just makes since.

There is a chance that it dont make it run any cooler, but it definately doesnt make it run hotter! Air blowing on your motor is going to cool your motor wether its just a tiny bit or a lot! They look cool too!!!

I was skeptical at first as well. But I know someone with a high temp thermometer and he did readings before and after installation and the reading with the scoops were significantly higher. The only rationale I can think of is that it affects the air flow and doesnt allow the heat to discipate as well....These readings were on a modified engine which runs hot anyway so he took the scoops off and sold them..

I am not trying to bash the scoops I think they look cool but I dont want to make my engine run any hotter than it already does I have too much invested.....

I just purchased mine from Moto-Man and paid 60 + 11.90 shipping for a total of 72.00. Well worth it. This is probably a dumb question but I wonder if when testing if he rode before or after testing consistantly, I am sure he did but you would think after a ride and the different type of ride it would make a difference in temp. When you ride with them on you can feel the air flowing through and also the OMF scoops really don't inhibate any disopating around the engine, they are pretty far forward and not any lower than the fenders. I am pretty skeptical on the higher temp thing.

Yes me too, not to mention you have to stop to take the reading, thus no air moving so who know I like mine and I guess that is what matters in this game anyway. If you happy with your bike then all is good. Right?

I know i keep talking about this company but For Dirt Only are working on some that shoud been done soon and they will be cheaper than OMF maybe like $20 cheaper.
