I usually put Armor All on my plastic after I get done washing it and it's helped to keep my plastic from fading and keeps it somewhat glossy looking....works for me!

spray Armor All on your bike and let it set in the sun for a few mins.

alright.... I will tell you my secret.... I have been using Black Magic Tire Wet Foam on my plastic for about a year and it gives it an unbelievable shine. Now for the seat... I recomend any type of degreaser, i use that orange peel stuff and that works well, plus it doesnt make it slippery.

Yea the degreaser does work well for the seat.. I second that one,,:)

son-of-a-gun for the plastic.....i cleaned my engine up with some of that never-dull polish because it was starting to turn like a bonze color and it cleaned up really nice, but it stunk for a little bit after i fired her up.

The best thing you can do to keep your plastic from fading is to store your quad in the shade, plain and simple. Everything else will cover up the condition until you wash it. You cant really buff your plastic like a car because only the outer layer of plastic is smooth and glossy. If you go a little bit in and it becomes pourus and has bubbles in it. If your bike is realy faded it might be a decent trade off to buff it but, Like I said cover it or keep it inside and it will stay as shiny as is possible.

Sleeper Exactly, i use Armorall on the seat, which it doesnt make it slipery for me but. And i sometimes use armorall on the plastic, but most of the time i dont use ne thing on it, just clean it with simple green. I dont really care for it to look glossy cause its gonna get dirty any ways

I'll use some armor all type dressing on the fenders prior to going riding when it's muddy. It's does make it easier to clean up afterwards, but it sure collects the dust.

Armourall doesn't make my seat slippery... its a gripper. But it doesn't really clean it either

06-24-2005, 04:47 PM
use windex on the seat and either that tire shine stuff onthe plastic or wd-40 the tire shine is way better but more expensive

I used some Liquid Wrench (same thing as WD40) on mine today. Made em shine a bunch and made em really slippery. But IDK..I have always used armor all before...and the mud always stuck...but this Liquid Wrench seems to be alot slippier then Armor All...

Shined it up really nice and hide a lot of the stress marks.

wd-40 is the best i can use it on my 96 300ex original plastic and it makes it look almost brand new and clean up is always alot easier, and some times its the only thing that can get rid of that clay residue crap

Believe it or not i spray everything down ect. the seat with WD-40 It keeps stuff from rusting and it puts a decent shine on it. I spray the motor and pipe also it just burns off and makes mud and dirt slide off easier. Good luck

have any of you ever put like pam or some kind of non stick cooking spray or something on the under side of your fenders to make the mud slide of if not that what have you used.

Use the cheap off brand cooking spray. My buddy told me to try that. I did and it works.

go to Dollar Tree. They have it. Im am going to try it the next race. Spray your boots with WD-40, race, wait a day after the race and go outside and bang them together. Comes right off

I used Black Magik tire wet on my plastic and seat. Needless to say, the plastic looks great.. I did one wheelie right after I did it, slid right off the back.. :blah:

will the armorall also restore your plastic because mine has started to fade in a couple of areas?

Sjorge450R
07-23-2005, 04:24 AM
it only restores it temporaroly. Once you get muddy, wash it off, Its gone. Then you have to do it all over again.

I am surprised no one else does what I do. It is the oldest trick in the book.

I use Pledge cleaner! It shines the plastic and keeps dust and dirt off the bike. It even hides scratches. I do not put it on the seat at all, just the plastics. Ans it ads a lemon cent to the bike.

1.spray your quad with simple green
2.let it sit for a few min.
3.power wash
4.wipe dry
5.spray WD-40 on every thing(fenders ,seat, grips, shocks everything except brake rotors)
6.let it sit for 5 to 10 min.
7.use a towell to wipe off extra wd from fenders
8.use glass cleaner on a towell to wipe seat and grips
9.stand back and admire your work

tire foam works its way under stickers.and you can buy wd by the gallon for around 12 bucks
