Chain Stretching?

How much does a new chain stretch before it is done falling off?
I put it on got the right amount of play etc.. and it went good for a 60 miles.. then the next day it kept on falling off..I wouild tighten it again.. ride then it would fall off again.. I know they stretch but I am to the point where I can't tighten it much more.. ?????

What kind of chain did you buy? If you got an o-ring chain if should not be streghing that much. A cheap non o-ring chain will not last very long and that sounds like what you have.

The O-ring provides durability and the tensile strength prevents stretching. The chain on a quad is closer to the ground than a bike and must move more weight so it will not last as long. Get a good O-ring chain (7,000+ tensile strength). If you have to skimp do it on the sprockets but replace them when they show wear. I can usually replace my front twice and the rear once before my chain can be pulled half a tooth away from the rear sprocket, at this point you will have to replace the chain or it will wear your sprockets out too quick.
