I have purchased an HMF slip on Exaust...I am running a K&N Filter with the lid off. I heard that the Stock header has a good flow and I am going to Port my head instead of buying a full system... Do you feel that this a wise desition...?

Theres no real way to chintz and save money if you want to do the porting. First off I wouldnt do it myself. Second of all, even if you did get a good port job out of it, you wont benefit much from the increased flow youd achieve when you still are limited by the carb and exhaust....

You can port the header and help a little, a little. Just take the header off and look in the engine end of it. You should see a weld on each side, take a dremel and grind those welds down even.

the stock header with a slip on combo is good for bottom end but if you want it to run optimum on top end a higher flow header is necessary
