When I went riding this past weekend I could not find neutral no matter what I did. Normally I could find it easily. When I shut my quad off and let it cool down I could find it easily. What is going on, is there too much trans fluid or is my clutch fried?

If your cable is adjusted good, sounds like the clutch is gone.

My quad is the same way. I think it is the suction type affect the oil has on the plates and discs. If I am sitting still and the quad is running I can't find neutral. If I blip the trhottle a couple of times when I am trying to put it in neutral it pops right in. Try it. I think the extra rpms create enough centrifical force to break the plates loose. The only other thing I can think is the clutch basket has some grooves worn in it and the plates aren't sliding like they should. My quad has done this for a long time now. Just my thoughts

Ive had to shut mine off many times just to find it, on the old 400EX and the new 450R
