What would be the biggest diffrence setting up a bike for MX vs XC. Could I set my bike up for both?

Tires, gearing, power range of motor, suspension, width, length, height, pretty much just bout everything. If you think about it, even the plastic, cut for most mx, stock or more for xc to keep very little of the mud off.
