Christmas Valley Ore ??????

Can anyone give me the straight scoop on Christmas Valley Oregon? I've heard and read all sorts of good bad and ugly stories. Is it worth a 3 hour trip for the week-end? Paddles/No paddles?

Never been there. Do hear that its dusty and not to use paddles. A lot of rocks in the sand. Have you been to the coast?
