Has anybody installed the "race" cam and hi-comp piston yet? If so what kind of power gains did you get and also have you compared it to a big bore or any other cam piston combination? Thanks.

Instead of spending $350 for sparks race cam, call megacycle and buy their x2 cam(same cam) for $50 less.

I havent had any problems but I only have the hotcam stage 2 and 12:1 je piston. 2 pro riders from my area have used the sparks cam and 13.5;1 piston and both smacked the piston with the valves. That was last summer when the cams and pistons first came out they probably didnt check valve clearance

I have a Hotcams stage II and 13.5-1 piston in my practice bike. My brother has 11.5-1 piston and stage II cam, but his head has a cleanup port. His bike will slightly outrun my practice bike. The 13.5-1 piston will pull a little higher gearing though (more torque). Neither of them will run with my race bike though ..Nmotion 520. lol
Merrill

Are you going to versailles this weekend.

You mean the CRF cam that they repackage and then call a "race cam"?

It's crap. Get a HCS2 or HRC.

Hes talking about the X-4 not the aggressive drop in. We had the 13.5:1 and the CRF cam and it was a noticeable increase, but it wasnt like our 480. Id run a bigger lift cam like a WebCam .408 or the Mysto, or one of the Megacycle cams, your just going to need to the springs and guides as well.

Which bike are you running the stainless in? Also is the hot cams stage 2 cam a top or bottom end cam? I wouldn'e mind swinging a leg over that 520 either Merrill to see what it's got. LOL

Some people:rolleyes: ...Hes talking about the X4, which is the Megacycle cam which is one of the better cams out there, better than both the HC2 and the HRC cam..The aggressive drop in is the 02 CRF rip off.

I'm running the drop-in titanium intake valves. Not sure if they were worth $135 but they're in there. Can't tell if they helped because I switched to Sparks 2-ring 13.5:1 piston and trailtech -4 oz. flywheel all at once. It definitley has more power and revs quicker.
