Got tired of getting Smoked

I have a 05 400ex and bought it because of the electric start and reverse for trail riding. At the same time a buddy bought a 450r. It did not take me long to figure out 2nd SUCKS.

I started looking around and picked up a 05 black 450r for $ 4,700.00 with a full DMC alien, K&N, 10 hours?, with the 4 year extended warranty. I don't know anything about Dmc.
Any opinions.

I smoked him about 5 times the other day and I have'nt even jetted it yet. The dealer I bought it from in Lorton said it was jetted but when I tore it down it's stock.

I ordered a jet kit today but am wondering if I should get the HRC kit too.

Is the cam without major motor work worth it?

How much added gain should I get?

i would say since you already have the pipe to just get a hotcam and order up what ever parts of the hrc kit your dealer can get...can for sure get jets and a couple other little things...then just open up your airbox and itll go like crazy!!! and it will save a ton of $ over the hrc... but for sure do one of the 2...cause it adds soo much! it insane how much it adds... and that is all i have..i race mx and i have no plans on further improvements cause thats all i need...i get to the corner first almost every time!

I have the DMC Alien on mine and my only problem is that its way to loud for were i ride. I love the power but i have to change it back to stock eveysummer bucause of all the people that move into there summer homes were i ride.

Good luck, you can't get the part without buying the kit. It comes up as an error for a number, meaning you can't order just the needle. I looked before, and tried ordering parts for customers seperately, but the numbers always come up as an error.

My honda dealer ordered just the HRC needle and jet for me. It took a while and I had to talk to the right person, but they CAN do it. It cost me $33. You can get a sparks needle and buy a 185 jet from anybody.
