before my tires were leaking around the rim...so I bought new rims. after I got the tires put on the rim they held air for about a week, the first time I go riding with them they go flat. wtf. so I take the tire off and spray it with soapy water and it has a consistant leak around the bead. the tires are only a few months old and the rims are brand new. why isn't it seating correctly. the tires are 20x11 and the rims are 9x8. is it because the tires are too wide for the rim?

yeah I can't figure it out either. I've taken it back to the tire place and they try and reseat the bead. it hold air till I go riding with it. I run 5-7 lbs of air. I don't understand. it must be the tire and rim size. too bad I can't get new tires till these wear out cause I'm sure as hell not gonna waste 120 bucks. I just bought a portable air comp. for 10 bucks so I can just air it up when I take breaks at the track. looks like that's what I'm gonna have to do for a while. thanks for the reply

yeah I know. I did that once (not with this situation) and the guys at the tire shop were pretty pissed at me. we know each other pretty well since I live in a really small town. they said next time to just take it to them and they'll put some sealant on it. OBVIOUSLY their sealant doesn't work. so...I think I might buy a few bottles of slime and load it up

take the tire to an atv shop and break the bead on there check the bead on the tire to make sure there is no tears or gaps in the bead of the tire...then clean the rim up really good...use a handful of liquid dish soap on each bead of the tires....then put the tires on (make sure u have them on the right direction and put the tire on the small side first)....then fill the tire up with air until u hear the beads pop on the rim...make sure u dont get soap in your eye if it pops hard enough...the pop will probably kinda loud...then spray the off with a hose or suntin so that if there are leaks bubbles will show..hope this help and saved u money

they're 20x11x9 ITP holeshots. the rims are 9x8 - 9 inches tall by 8 inches wide. they're DID dirt stars...and what do you mean by put them on the small side first? like on the side with the least amount of "backspacing" -space between the lip of the rim and where the 2 halves are welded together?

My old Holeshots were a PAIN to get the bead to seal...have you tried the ratchet strap trick? if not...break the bead, take a ratchet strap and stap it around the middle of the tire, make it tight and put some air in the tire to blow the bead back on. I believe I had around 45-50psi before mine TOTALLY sealed...pain in the ***....one of the reasons I got new tires;)

well not an really an answer to your problems. but in the future when you go to set a bead. take some starting fluid and spray it inside the tire, just a LITTLE like 1 seccond or less then spray a trail to the tire on the ground. lite the trail of starting fluid, and it will reach the tire, then turn you back and give the tire a little kick. and boom the starting fluid in the tire will ignite and set the bead, then quickly fill it up with air. Try a tiny bit of fluid and work you way up, to little is better than to much.

yeah I've seen that done on tv, they did it on these like arctic crawlers. they had like 37's that they couldn't seat so they lit em on fire...instant inflation. kinda scary though

when I mount tires i like to fill the tire with allot of air (20-25psi) and let them sit for awhile to get good and seated on the bead
