I just got a parking brake block off and would like to get rid of all that crap for the parking brake on top of the clutch lever but its made onto the perch. I planned on just getting a works connection lever/perch but then I went and looked at it and rememberd that little red plastic button with the R on it for the reverse. What can I use? I think I am going to have to retian the stock lever.

You can remove the reverse cable completely and use a 2 stroke exhaust spring(or even a coat hanger LOL) and use it to hold the lever on the right side of the engine in the reverse position. You will be able to shift into reverse from neutral without using the button then. You can also replace the reverse handle with a foot shifter to make it even easier. I found mine on eBay. Also check out RTC clutch levers for a great aftermarket lever.

Here's a pic of the foot shifter

after you do the mod he said, the rec botton is always in the reverse position. so when you need to get into reverse, all you have to do is put it in neutral then pull up on the reverse lever

Yeah. All I have to do is pull in the clutch while in neutral (don't forget or it will go into reverse without the clutch) and push the foot shifter down. To go back to neutral you just flip the lever back up.

I put a crf 250 clutch perch on and used the decompression trigger for the reverse works great

I got mine from a member on eBay. Just search for 300ex reverse and you'll find it. Here's another pic

all you have to do is buy that little lever and I wont have to use the little red reverse button on the clutch anymore to put it into reverse?

No. You also have to disconnect the reverse cable and use something to hold the lever on the right side of the engine that the cable pulls. I used an exhaust spring to keep in in the reverse position.

I'll try to get a pic this afternoon.

Normally when you push the red reverse button and pull the clutch it pulls a cable which leads to a lever on the right side of the engine. You basically just need something like a 2 stroke exhaust spring or even a zip tie to hold the lever in the reverse position at all times.

Finally got a pic of the spring I used in place of the reverse lever cable. Sorry I took so long.

Hmm...I checked ebay too and came up with nothing. Usually theres at least one on there. I'm pretty sure you can use a stock foot shifter in place of the reverse lever. That might be your best option.

i used a yfz450 but you can use others i used their clutch perch with hotstart lever and adjuswt on the fly. and it works. i would just reccommend it if you dont use reverse very often due to the fact that the lever is hard to push but not overly hard.

It's actually from a hotseat pipe for a polaris trailblazer 250. I'm not sure if the stock springs are the same because the pipes mount up a bit differently. You may be able to contact hotseat for the same spring.

just go to your local hardware store. I went and bought just a spring that was the same length and similar tension when i neededa new one for my old CT pipe. it was like 1 dollar
