04 400ex grab bar

is there anything io can do to gte rid of that ****ty grab bar on the 04's and put a nice one on ?????honda was stupid for making it right into the frame

ive read about other people saying to cut it off then drill some holes and bolt up an after market one for either a 300ex or 450r (cant remember).

Yeah, you basically have three options

1 - Deal with it.

2 - Cut it off, drill and tap new holes for an aftermarket grab bar.

3 - Buy an aftermarket subframe that has holes for a grab bar already made.

just buy a prm grab bar and bolt to the mofo...

I bought a 250 R grab bar and cut the sub frame to fit. I used 4-5/16" shouldered nuts, 2-5/16 " x 1" bolts and 2-5/16" x 3/4" bolts. Cutting, pre assembly and welding took 1 hour.

PRM grab bar, came with the needed bolts and steel tabs. Cut off the sub frame and weld the new tabs on. Took maybe 15 mins with a good wire welder.

I belive PRM no longer sells that version but the parts may still be available.

The ones they sell now are a direct bolt on, no cutting or welding.
