Hey. I recently bought a 1999 Kawasaki KX250(dirt bike) and I was wondering what kind of modifications are possible for it. I was thinking the next size up piston, FMF pipe, TAG handlebars, but i dont know what else too do to a dirt bike. I thought i would ask you guys because most of you are older than me and know what your talking about! this is my fourth bike and i really like it...oh yea eccept for the part where it blew up the second day i got it.(i guess that fuxes the next size up piston as it will have to be boared out). and i already have the TAG bars. Please help me out. Thanks!

definately exhaust, i would go for a pro circuit. and if you dont have an after market air filter then definately get one. and jet it to:)

Cool. thanks for the advise. When you "re-jet" what is done? I hear it all the tim but dont understan what is done when this is done.

all it is just putting bigger or smaller jets in the carb. ive never jetted a 2-stroke tho. i used to have a piped and jetted rm125 but it was jetted perfect when i got it so i didnt need to mess with it. when you get exhaust and a filter you will definately need to rejet.

Alright cool. Well i might be able to pick a filter soon but i dont know about a pipe and spark arrester right away. My bike is in the shop still because i blew it up. The bill is gonna be around $600 they guy said(canadian,I live in Canada). plus a pipe is around what?...600 or 700 for full exhaust system? But I for sure will be getting one in the future. Have you herd if dirtbike studs work good for the ice? I want to get some fot the winter months because i think it will be fun to ride a bike on the ice. How much is a filter usually?

are you sure you need to bore it.....you shouldnt need to unless it scored your cylinder.....about mods.....a good set of bars is really all you need unless your super fast....in that case a pipe for your needs and reeds....thats about it

Thats what the mechanic said i would have to do. He was sitting there kicking it over for like 5 minutes and i was thinking " quit it man you making it worse..quit it..ill kick you in the head man quit it" and he keeped going. I though that there was a skirt that could just be replaced but im not sure. oh well. Thanks man.

His bike is a 2004 KX250. I guess he has a pipe, Reeds, and a smaller front sprocket.
