Edelbrock Carb adjustments

I lost my manual for my edelbrock some how and now I need to know which way to turn the adjustment needle because I think that it is running to lean. It is backfireing when I let off the gas, and it is running pretty hot right off of a cold start. I think that the maual says that if it does that it is running lean if that is the case then do I turn the adjustment needle counterclockwise or clock wise? If this is not correct then please tell me.

turn it right to richen it, i go 2 clicks at a time untill it right
